The Footwear & Tire Examiner Program is designed for forensic practitioners actively working in crime scene units, forensic laboratories, or related investigative disciplines where impression evidence is encountered.
Participants may include: new examiners entering footwear and tire examination, practitioners seeking structured preparation for IAI certification, or agencies developing internal impression evidence capabilities.
Enrollment is coordinated directly with agencies and qualified practitioners.

The inaugural cohort of the Footwear & Tire Examiner Program is scheduled to begin August 31.
Enrollment is limited to maintain instructional quality and ensure meaningful hands-on mentorship throughout the program.
The program is designed to allow participants to remain active in their agency roles while completing structured training.
Participants should expect regular virtual instruction, assigned casework exercises, and preparation for in-person intensive sessions, along with additional independent study and practice.
Program tuition covers structured instruction, course materials, and all training supplies used during the in-person sessions.
Travel and lodging for in-person sessions, along with any supplies used for exercises within the participant’s agency, are the responsibility of the participant or their agency.
Tuition is invoiced directly to the participant’s agency or sponsoring organization following acceptance into the cohort.
Payment details and deadlines are provided during the enrollment process.
The primary in-person training sessions for the first cohort will be held in Cape Coral, Florida.
An additional one-day intensive session will be held in the Northeastern United States, with specific locations and logistics provided prior to each session.
Completion of the program is designed to support eligibility for professional footwear certification by providing structured, certification-aligned training.
Certification decisions are made by the appropriate certifying organization, and applicants must meet all eligibility criteria at the time of application.
